patty lee, ktvu, channel 2 news. >>> ktvu meteorologist mark tamayo is tracking conditions in the ocean right now and joins us from the weather center. it looks like the waves are pretty flat now. >> yeah. when you look at current conditions, bowie heights not impressive, maybe 2 to 4 feet, but things are changing way out in the pacific. here is a model of the swell heights. let me look at some of the spots out to our west. not too impressive out here about, 4 feet, but look what happens to the west of this line here jumping up 15 feet, closer to 18 feet. so we have some major swell on the way set to move into the region as we head into saturday, but especially sunday. as a result high surf advisory begins tomorrow morning at 10:00 until 4:00 sunday afternoon. the dangerous part here, we'll have very nice weather this weekend, a lot of the visitors to the bay area shoreline. you want to be extra chafe because we'll have periods of calm seas, but during that period you'll have swells increasing. as far as the forecast for mavericks that, swell gets amplified as it gets focused closer to

ktvu's ktvu brian flores with the new information just released. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon. engineers were hoping that traffic just like this would be going on to the new bay bridge by the labor day weekend. for now technically those plans are in place but it's dependent on whether a contractor working on the bolt fix can get it done by then but they say they can't commit to the date at this time. caltrans officials this morning decided on a steel saddle fix to the broken bolts which would essentially strengthen them during everyday use and during a natural disaster. they were made around 2008 and showed signs of hydrogen corrosion when installed in march. engineers also reveal like the bolts similar to the ones in question were used on the san rafael bridge but say those bolts are safe. they say the cost to fix it would be $5 million to $10 million and th alternative would have been up to $20 million. they also say they are testing newer bolts like the ones in 2010 that were installed and say so far those are holding up. >> you t
